- SUPERGIRL is a US action fantasy, from 1984, in which a superpowered being from another world battles a villain on Earth to save her home.
There is infrequent moderate bad language ('bitch') as well as use of a discriminatory term ('retard'). Milder bad language includes uses of 'shit', 'damnit', 'God' and 'Jesus'.
There is a scene in which two men accost Supergirl in a threatening way and seek to intimidate her; one of them grabs her cape and the other pulls a knife. There are several fantasy action sequences involving magic spells and superpowers, both on planet Earth and in fantastical settings. There are magical monsters in several scenes. However, the threat is mild.
There are multiple fantasy violence battles involving super powers such as laser beam eyes, and magical spells invoking monsters, animating everyday objects and vehicles. In one scene a disorientated man under a spell walks in traffic and another person says 'He's probably on drugs'. In another sequence a man who appears to be under the influence of alcohol offers Supergirl some of his beverage. There is brief minimal sight of blood when a person injures a hand on a rock.
