Synopsis

The Canadian policeman Louis Burke is assigned in a jail to investigate the murders of prisoners and jailors. When in jail, Louis, using his outstandings martial arts skills, is able to save his life and make himself respected in that violent world. At least, helped by two another prisoners, he succeded in finding the truth about the dreadful crimes. In a violent and corrupt prison, decorated cop Louis Burke must infiltrate the jail to find answers to a number of inside murders. DEATH WARRANT is an action drama, from 1990, about a detective who goes undercover as an inmate at a prison where there have been a series of unexplained deaths. Violence: Strong violence includes a scene in which a prisoner in his cell is deliberately sprayed with petrol and set alight. He is shown completely on fire, with some focus on his pain as he screams and desperately tries to escape, bashing his head several times against a small glass pane until it cracks. Other violence includes some shootings, a garrotting, and several kickboxing-style fight sequences. There is also some strong language ('f**k') as well as milder terms such as 'shit' and 'bastard'. There are several uses of the discriminatory term 'nigger'.

One man teases Van Damme ad offers to be subject to oral sex to which Van Damme politely refuses. Van Damme and his girlfriend kiss passionately while they're in each others arms. Cops force a woman to give herself a strip search. We only see her shirtless in a bra. Cops throw Van Damme's character into solitary confinement while he is naked. We see his naked body along with his bare butt once.
