BBFC Ratings info
FATAL ATTRACTION is a 1987 thriller in which a man's life and family are threatened after he has an affair with an psychologically disturbed woman. Violence: There are a number of scenes of strong violence, including woman in a trance-like state stabbing a knife into her own leg, a woman's head being held under water in a bath tub, and a gunshot impact resulting in a splatter of blood against wall. Sex: There are two strong sex scenes, which include sight of a clothed man thrusting into a woman and brief sight of a woman's nipple being kissed. In one scene oral sex is implied as a woman sinks to the floor, followed by a look of pleasure on a man's face. Language: There is strong language ('f**k') as well as a use of 'cocks***er'. There is also some moderate bad language, including uses of 'bitch' and 'faggot'. FATAL ATTRACTION also includes sight of bleeding wrists, indicating self harm. The film also contains some moderate threat as the woman stalks the man and threatens his family. This includes the idea that she has boiled the family's pet rabbit.

Sex & Nudity
severe
Sex & Nudity Reason
A man kisses a woman's neck and seats her over a kitchen sink; she removes her panties, he undoes his pants (his bare buttocks are visible from the side); they thrust and moan as the man continues to kiss the woman; she runs the sink, wetting both of them and their clothing, and opens her blouse (we briefly see her bare breast), and the man proceeds to grope and kiss her breast; the woman locks her legs around his waist, they scuffle across the room, and jump into bed (a bit of the woman's bare buttocks are briefly visible); we later hear moaning as the camera pans down from the bedroom ceiling and we see the man and woman (they are nude from the shoulders up) rolling off each other, out of breath, in an obviously post-coital moment. A man and a woman kiss passionately in an elevator; the man rips the woman's dress off her chest (her bare breast is briefly visible) and he gropes and sucks her breast and caresses her bare thigh; the woman stops the elevator and moves down between the man's legs, we hear his pants unzip, and she performs oral sex on him offscreen (moaning is briefly heard); the man and the woman then go to the woman's apartment (sex is implied). A nude man showers (we briefly glimpse his bare upper buttocks). A man and a woman (they are nude from the shoulders up) are shown in bed after presumably having sex; the man gets out of bed (his bare buttocks are briefly visible as he is getting dressed) and the woman rips his shirt open, trying to have sex with him again, but he declines (we see the woman's bare breasts for the remainder of the scene). A woman's underwear is visible under her robe when she and another woman are fighting and rolling around on the bathroom floor near the end of the movie.

Violence & Gore
moderate
Violence & Gore Reason
A woman lying in bed strongly kicks a man sitting next to her after he insults her. A woman touches a man's face and blood rubs off, revealing that she has presumably slit her wrists (we see bloody gashes on her wrists); the man then rinses her wrists under hot water as she screams in pain; the man is then shown with blood on his face and clothing, and as he runs to find bandages, blood rubs off on a column; after bandaging the woman, they have traces of blood on their clothing. A man grabs a woman by the neck and shoves her against a wall, threatening her; she runs to make a phonecall and angrily rips the phone out of the wall. A man's car is shown smoldering after a woman has dumped acid on it. A woman vomits, but none of the contents are visible. A girl's pet rabbit is briefly shown, dead and bloody, boiling in a pot of water. A woman goes into hysterics and jabs fists at her husband, but ceases upon seeing her daughter crying. A woman drives frantically around a neighborhood, searching for her daughter who has been abducted by another woman; she nearly hits a few people and then rear-ends another car (we later see cuts and bruises on the woman's face and a cast on her arm when she is in the hospital). A man breaks into a woman's apartment and chases her through several rooms, knocking over a lamp and a bicycle; he pushes her face against a glass door and attacks her in a bathroom; she kicks him out of the way and runs to a kitchen; the man falls, breaking another glass door with his arm; he grabs the woman, slamming her against a counter and a light fixture, and attempts to strangle her, but ceases (the woman gags and coughs violently); the woman then attacks him with a large kitchen knife, but he manages to restrain her and quietly leaves. A woman appears in another woman's bathroom, brandishing a large kitchen knife, frightening her and causing her to drop a bottle of mouthwash, which breaks; the woman with the knife begins to nervously run the blade across her own leg (we see a little blood running down her leg, on her dress, and on the blade of the knife); she then raises the knife and stabs wildly at the other woman; the other woman knocks her to the floor and they struggle for a few seconds; one woman grabs the knife and tries to stab the other, but misses, hitting the floor instead; a man runs into the room, grabbing one woman and pushing her head through a mirror; the woman slashes his chest and arm with the knife (blood is shown as a result) and pushes him into a water-filled bathtub, slashing violently at him and ripping a shower curtain; he kicks her across the room and she hits a wall hard, knocking over several glass picture frames; he grabs her and shoves her underwater, attempting to drown her (she struggles and thrashes in the water for several seconds until she ceases; we see blood coming from her mouth, her pupils turn a ghastly white, and her hand rests on the bottom of the bathtub as she apparently dies); she then rises out of the water, raising the knife at the man, but the other woman shoots her in the chest (blood pours from the bullet wound and splatters on the wall behind her as she slumps into the bathtub, dead).

Frightening & Intense Scenes Reason
Some of the scenes listed under "violence" can be considered frightening/intense, most of these scenes are also accompanied by suspenseful/intense music. A woman wipes fog from a steaming bathtub off a mirror and through it, sees another woman in the doorway. This startles her and she drops a bottle of mouthwash which breaks. We see a woman's face as she's drowning in a bathtub and her pupils turn a ghastly white. Some blood also comes out of her mouth while she is underwater. She jumps up unexpectedly and is shot with a gun. She slumps back into the water. The wife's discovery of her husband's infidelity sparks an intense argument. Their young daughter sees this and is shown to be realistically emotionally distressed by their argument. A woman apparently abducts another woman's daughter and is shown taking her to an amusement park and on a roller coaster ride, which the girl shows visible discomfort whereas the woman appears lucid. Simultaneously, her mother is shown frantically driving around the neighborhood, looking for her and ends up in a car accident.
