BBFC Reason
Contains strong violence and language

Sex & Nudity
Sex & Nudity Reason
A nerdy boy is tricked into hitting another boy's behind with his head; his bare behind is visible onscreen. Two men are in bed caressing each other, while two children watch and giggle. They are shirtless and it is implied that they are nude and have had/will have sex. Several boys go skinny dipping, their bums are visible. A naked boy can be seen from behind, the scene is fairly dark though. A girl is implied to be raped, with a plugged-in curling iron being used to penetrate her (this is only shown in a shadow with not much detail.) She is then shoved between a wall and a bunk bed. At the end of the film there is a penis shown, but this is crucial to the movie's plot.

Violence & Gore
Violence & Gore Reason
A girl is penetrated with a hot curling iron. The actual act is only shown in silhouette, but it is still pretty graphic nonetheless. A girl is stabbed in the back through a shower curtain; blood is shown. Later her body is discovered and a large deep slit is shown down the entirety of her back. Several small children are killed in their sleep; bloody and shredded sleeping bags (with bodies presumably inside) are shown. A young boy is killed off camera, but later his decapitated head is shown. A cook has a large pot of boiling hot water poured on top of him; we see many blisters and burn marks on his hands and face as he screams in agony for a relatively long time. A boy drowns after being pulled under water by the killer; we see his partially bloodied and decomposing body moments later. A man is killed in a boating accident, his body is seen afterwards, but we do not see any blood. A child is also killed in the accident, but the body is never shown. A man pushes a young boy into a wall and threatens him. A boy is stung to death by a bunch of bees. His body is shown covered in bloody welts and bees. A man beats up a young boy. You only see him punching, but cannot see the boy. He is later shown with a bloody nose and lip. A man gets an arrow shot through his throat.

Profanity Reason
There are around 15 f-words 1 use of ass 3 uses of bitch 1 middle finger 1 use of bastard 6 uses of shit (some paired with bull) other minor swear such as shut up, crap, hell e.t.c

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking Reason
A man smokes a cigar in several scenes Two characters appear to be smoking marijuana A man is seen drinking a beer in the kitchen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
Frightening & Intense Scenes Reason
Rated R for horror violence, disturbing images, language, scenes of sensuality, and brief graphic nudity - all involving teens The ending scene is considered to be very unsettling and intense. Even though only the aftermath of each event is seen the plot may be frightening to some viewers. Particularly young kids or children scared of going to camp. The theme of the haunted camp may be frightening. The scene where the camp director nearly beats Ricky to death is a frightening thinking about how that happened under a false assumption.
