Some male dogs have shown their penises.
Tucker's mom, one of this movie's minor characters, is shown to be pregnant throughout the pets' encounters with Tucker (another minor character).
There are a couple of mild brief sensual references between dogs.
There is 1 obvious remark between a dog and a cat where the cat wakes up from sleeping snuggled up with a dog and she gets mad and calls him "ugly" and the dog replies back, "You didn't think that last night."
While the dogs are running through San Francisco, the camera focuses on random people playing football in the park. It shows a few girls in mini skirts while also wearing bikini bras and they show guys, some shirtless and others in muscle shirts.
While the dogs are walking through San Francisco, in the distance you notice woman in very short skirts, their thighs are completely visible.

There is one slang stand-in use for the F word, which is "freaking".
There is a remark made calling another dog a "bad" dog but it was implied he was first going to call him the "Bitch" word. The word stupid is used often, and other mild, slap stick words.

A truck driver runs over the dog Chance on the street, but he ducks so he doesn't get hurt.
in one scene a building catches fire and a frightened boy is still inside while his mother and father helplessly wait outside. The boy makes it out alright.
The scene where Chance is kidnapped by dog stealers is very stressful.
The scene where Delilah explains Riley's backstory is very sad and emotional. The scene involves Riley as a puppy being abandoned by a family who didn't want him which explains his hatred towards humans. The backstory accompanied with a flashback sequence is also heartbreaking to animal lovers and children.
