Fifteen-year-old Charlotte Flax is tired of her wacky mom moving their family to a different town any time she feels it is necessary. When they move to a small Massachusetts town and Mrs. Flax begins dating a shopkeeper, Charlotte and her 9-year-old sister, Kate, hope that they can finally settle down. She also wonders about nun's underwear, including whether they wear any in the shower. A 15 year old girl is seen in the shower. A shower curtain blurs any detail but skin can be seen. A teenage girl walks around in her underwear. A man and woman lay in bed talking after sex. She has dressed and the sheets cover him below the waist. Most of the plot line circles around the teenage girl's coming-of-age sexuality and her mother's promiscuity.
