Sex & Nudity
Sex & Nudity Reason
The main character and his girlfriend make out briefly, then are seen stripping as silhouettes. It then fades to a shot of them together, both naked, with her asleep in the bed as he sits awake, pondering a problem. No actual sex is seen, but it is very strongly implied. The main character and his girlfriend kiss once or twice; a scene they are talking on the bed, but are fully clothed.

Violence & Gore
Violence & Gore Reason
Bloodless shootings. A mans hands are burnt. The visual effects are not very realistic but it is still quite grisy. The main character beats up several men during the movie, and some of them are eventually killed. A man is beaten; some blood seen. His face is then forced into some concoction, and he is burned alive. We only see him flying into a body of water. A man gets angry and twists another man's fingers hard: cracking noises and screaming is heard. No blood or gore is shown. A man throws another man out of a window: the victim is seen landing on a car (he is dead). A man runs away from a helicopter whose gunner shoots grenades from a mounted grenade launcher.

Profanity Reason
A reference to castration is made. 2 F-words, 1 "son of a bitch", and some milder swearing. Taking G-D's name in vain.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking Reason
The lead villain smokes cigars. Possibly one or two scenes where one of the bad guys are smoking drugs while they talk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes
Frightening & Intense Scenes Reason
The finger-breaking is quite intense. Darkman's face is fairly grotesque. The action scenes can be intense. The film's tone isn't exactly frightening, but it's very bizarre and violent. A mans head is forcibly looking out of a manhole. Cars speed past him narrowly missing him, however one eventually crushes his head (nothing is shown but the sound effect is disturbing)
